Private Art
- Published in Session
During the past several months, our summer development team has created an arts-integrated curriculum focusing on using tech to stretch our learner’s creativity to the limits. Our unique program focuses on elementary-aged learners as young as 5 years old because we truly believe in the potential of our campers. Our on-site equipment includes laptops, custom-built touchscreen displays, 3D printers, interactive projections, as well as top notch art supplies and studios. We even have our own proprietary software and hardware specifically created for our program.
Each course will be two-weeks long. The courses will be offered in the morning (9 AM - Noon) and the afternoon (1 PM - 4PM).
Level A: Digital Coding (Entering 1st grade - 2nd grade)
Our digital coding class was designed for our K-2nd Grade campers, as an entry-level course for students to get exposed to creative tools found in technology.
In the entry-level digital coding class, students will...
- - Create 2D and 3D artwork using clay, paint, and found objects based on the theme.
- - Have access to green screens, so they can easily transfer their 3D creations into digital files on their computers through our accessible scanning interface.
- - Learn about block programming in order to bring their artwork to life. They will learn how to initiate motion, record sounds and voices, create loops and patterns.
- - Create animation using stop-motion and block programming using personalized sprites.
Level B: IOT Coding/SmartGadgets (2nd grade - 4th grade)
Our IOT coding course was made for our future inventors! In this course, campers will began to understand the importance of functionality in machines, devices, and technological hardware. The central theme will revolve around connectivity and how certain commands can produce desired results.
In the IOT Coding class, students will...
- - Use and code single board computers such as Raspberry Pi and Arduino
- - Master and understand the use of block programming and process of computer programming.
- - Create a take home project/gadget that will have a purpose and use.
- - Learn and work with different types of sensors (Alarms, security systems)
- - Utilize modules for wireless technology (Remotes, Bluetooth connectivity, device connectivity)
Level C: Robotics/Engineering (4th grade - 6th grade)
Our robotics and engineering class will be the most challenging course that we offer this summer. Our campers will be immersed in an experience as they bring their physical creations to life. Our master campers will be coding, designing, and controlling their own personal robot that they can take home!
In our master Robotics course, students will...
- - Learn to organize their ideas, designs, and knowledge in order to accomplish a goal.
- - Master the use of block programming.
- - Create their own 3D designs and parts using specialized software like SketchUp and TinkerCad.
- - Learn the fundamentals of Python code in order to program function into their self-designed robots and devices.
- - Engage in physical demonstrations about motion and force utilizing the Algodoo software.
- - Conduct engineering projects such as self-driving vehicles, motion activated robots, RC cars.
